Cricket "You got to love to hate them"!!! surprise, surprise. Who would have thought that South African Cricket squad could excel well in the world of sport? No offense, if you are not #PureProteas fan you'll say that for sure... through hardships they are now Number 1 in Test Ranking.
Separate that, Test Cricket with ODI Matches, plus T20-Twenty Match a breakthrough of success in Cricket. Imagine that, No1 Test Rank, T-20 Rank and ODI No1 Rank.... Awesome hey! wouldn't it be the greatest avenue for Cricket South Africa? precisely so. Gary Kristen made it all happen, gracious lord where have you been? In India, former Proteas Batsman, coached India before appointed as the Head Coach of the Proteas National Squad.
Just as you thought that things are looking good for the Proteas, Cricket South Africa... Then boom! Gary Kirsten announce that he will not renew his two-year contract. This come after a winning track record for the Proteas, no.1 Test rank team in the world and with the ICC Champions Trophies. On Friday 10, Kirsten announced his retirement citing a need to focus his attention of family reasons. He made the same excuse with India after they won World Cup in 2011.
Gary Kirsten officially took over as the head coach on India March1, 2008. On June 5, Kirsten was appointed full time head coach of the Proteas. The Proteas reach no.1 Test team in the world under Kirsten who said to step down in August 2013. Russell Domingo, Proteas T20 coach is the new head coach of the Proteas squad. Former South African coach's reign may be over before the back-to-back Ashes against England this year. The first of the five Test in England begins on July 10, at the Trent Bridge. Is Arthur to blame for Aussie's Agony?
Coach Mickey Arthur's punishments came as a surprise to many Australian cricket fans, but believe it will help Australia regain their number one Test ranking. This comes after Australia's thrashing by India in the second Test of four-match series. Four players were dropped for the third Test in India, after failing to compete a questionnaire. And the players are vice-captain Shane Watson, James Pattinson, Mitchell Johnson and Usman Khawaja for not submitting feedback requested by the team management.
Having lost by eight wickets in Chennai in the opening Test, Australia lost by an innings- and- 135- runs defeat in the second after being bowled out for only 131 in their second innings. Former Australian-vice captain Shane Warne criticized Mickey Arthur's punishment stating that, The coach should not be asking for homework. He should be, creating an atmosphere where players feel relaxed, not tenterhooks all the time about their places. When players are relaxed they feel ease with their game and perform the best. "The team have gone through a lot of issues over the past 12 months and many of the problems have been caused by the selectors. All the players are uncertain about their place in the team because of the way teams and squads have been chosen", Warne continued.
In he defence Arthur said; he had become increasingly dissatisfied with some team members "minor indiscretion', but hoped the decision to drop the quartet would encourage the rest of the squad to improve the behaviour. The mighty Australia in deep humiliation lately, it's like a speed hump. Things are not the same, a lot has change immensely. "The good has gone bad", as many would describe former World Champions and number 1 Test Rank cricket. Australia were the top-ranked side in Test cricket for 74 months between June 2003 and August 2009, but now lie in third place behind South Africa and England. Australia's standard has drop, this shows how quick things can change when teams attitude and appreciation of what they are doing by respecting the game. #ICC Champions Trophy around the corner will they perform their best? as known or will South Africa use this opportunity to claim and become the ICC Champions since 1998. South Africa will play against India in their first match, starting on June 6. -source BBC sport
