AUSTRALIA'S DEEP PAIN...'Paying Tributes to Hughes

Michael Clarke Michael Clarke honoured Phil Hughes on behalf of the national team.

He read a statement at 10:00am on Saturday.'

'Words cannot express how we feel as the team right now.  To Greg, Virginia, Jason and Megan, we share in the deep pain that you're feeling .  Apart from when he was at home on the farm with his beloved cattle, Hughes was at this happiest playing cricket for his country with his mates.  Things were all put into perspective when Hughesy said 'where else would you rather be boys, but playing cricket for your country'. We're going to miss that cheeky grin and that twinkle in his eye.  He epitomized what baggy green is about and it means to us all... the world lost one of its great blokes this week, and we are all poorer for it. Our promise to Hughesy's family is that we will do everything we can to honour his memory.Last night I asked Cricket Australia if Hughesy's Australian one day international shirt no.64, could be retired, to which they agreed.  That means so much.  His legacy of trying to improve each and every day will drive us for the rest of our lives.  We'd like to thank everyone both here and overseas for the touching tributes to Hughesy in recent days.  'Our dressing room will never be the same'.  We loved him and always will.
Rest in peace Bruzzy.''- said Clarke.

On Saturday evening CA announced that Hughes funeral will take place at 2pm on Wednesday in the sports hall of Macksville High School. Hughes funeral on December 3. He will be farewelled in his hometown Macksville in northern New South Wales on Wednesday.

SUDDENLY YOU ARE GONE...

DEATH POEM

Death who are you? You took what I loved, and now I'm hurting everyday.
Families bereave everyday because of you.  Darkness is what you are...
You walk among us everyday, and no one sees you

You bring darkness into our lives by taking our loved ones away from us.
Which Universe do you come from?  I guese you will not answer me.
You leave us with horrendous pain of which no one deserves it.
Oh death, you invite yourself into our lives...

You take what you want and leave without warning.
What I am without the ones you take away from me; I ask?
Death, you show no shame and spare us no messy...
There are whys and buts questions that shall not be answered hopefully by you

I could tell you to go...but you're not going to listen.
A riper, shadow, despair and agony to all.
You belong to no one but all families.
