Finally!!! Danny Jordaan is the new SAFA President.

Man is a singular creature.   He has a set of gifts which make him unique among the animals; So that unlike them, he is not a figure in the landscape- he is a shaper of landscape.  -Jacob Brondowski-

Dr Danny Jordaan was elected as Safa president over the weekend, succeeding Kirsten Nematandani.  He won by 162 votes, ahead of Mandla Mazibuko with 88 votes from 52 regions.  On the 28 September 2013, Jordaan became the president of South Africa Football Association after numerous attempt, and this time he came out victorious!
                                                 Danny Jordaan, Safa President

"This is a Safa election, not an election of one group or another.  All the executive members are elected, so all people are not in football by chance.  They have earned their place.  "The Safa executive will serve South African Football", said Dr Danny Jordaan at the press conference.

The above quote is calling for unity in Safa House, infighting and querrels among each other exist.  Leadership was needed in Safa and the big question is, will Jordaan instill dignity and peace amongst his colleagues?

The 62-year-old, served as Safa CEO from 1997 to 2004, and led South Africa's successful 2010 FIFA World Cup bid, the first successful one for Africa.  Jordaan, also led their unsuccessful bid in 2006 FIFA World Cup, served on the 2010 FIFA World Cup Organising Committee and 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup Organising Committee .   Former lecture, politician and anti-apartheid activist.

Jordaan promises to improve Bafana Bafana's overal performance, youth development, strengthening women football as well as strengthening the Association Financial standings.  "I am excited and looking forward to deliver on my mandate", said Jordaan.   Vice-Presidents went to Chief  Mwelo Nomkonyan by 197 votes, defeating Lucas Nhlapo and Elvis Shishana.  Mandla Mazibuko, the runner-up had been a supporter of Orlando Pirates boss Dr Irvan Khoza.

Khoza, who was ruled out ineligible after the disclosure of the national body.  Mazibuko was then nominated to oppose Jordaan but the president of  SA Schools Football Association was unable to garner enough support for the top position in Safa.  We all know the story, Khoza and Jordaan don't 'see eye to eye' Who's the Boss now?

The development of South African Football had to change radically according to Jordaan.   Maladministration and finance mismanagement is the cause of too much failure in organizations especially in sports development.  Lets hope the newly elected board serve its purpose and its nation.  Change is needed, Bafana Bafana must grow as a football nation and participate more with competent opponents.

Where there is a light there is a way.

Kenya is continuing with three days of official mourning for both civilian and military victims of the siege.  President Uhuru Kenyatta has declared three days of national mourning following terror attack at Wesgate Shopping Mall in Nairobi.   Four day siege ended on Tuesday 24, when militants stormed the Westgate shopping centre, opening gunfire and launching the grenade attacks on patrons.

Somalia's Al-Shabab  militants take responsibility for the attacks in Kenya.  Somalia Islamist group Al- Shabab has said it had carried the attack in retaliation for Kenyan army operations in Somalia.  Al-Shabab, which is linked to Al-Qaeda , has repeatedly threatened attacks on Kenyan soil if Nairobi did not pull its troop out of Somalia.   Why? because members of al-Shabab group are fighting to create an Islamic state in Somalia.

About 4 000 Kenyan troops have been serving in south of Somalia since October 2011, as part of an African Union force supporting Somalia government forces.  The terrorist were responsible abroad, for the July 2010 suicide bombings in Kampala, Uganda.   Killed more than 70 people, including a US citizen, as they gathered to watch a Football World Cup final match.  The group is believed to be responsible for attacks in Somalia that have killed international and aid workers, journalist, civilian leaders and African Union peacekeepers.-by CNN African news-

On Wednesday 25, Red Cross found six missing people and were re-united with families, among those found was a South African women.  Furthermore, nine bodies were positively identified by their close families.  The death toll rise to  67 people killed and 61 still missing.   Yesterday, the funerals of some of the 67 victims and that of pregnant television and radio star Ruhila Adatia was one of many being held on Thursday.   Red Cross has said 61 people remain unaccounted for when three floors inside of the complex collapsed and death toll could rise up to 200.   Interior Minister Joseph Ole Lenku believe more bodies of victims are buried under the rubbel, said on Wednesday 25, 2013.

Forensic Experts are digging through the rubble collecting DNA, fingerprints and ballistic samples for analysis. Mr Lenku said experts from USA, UK, Israel, Germany, Canada and Interpol are joining Kenya's counterparts in the operation.  This will take up to seven days.  ''We cannot confirm the details at the present.  Forensic experts are working to ascertain the nationalities of the terrorists", said President Uhuru Kenyatta told the nation on Tuesday 23.     Six Kenyan soldiers were killed by the rebels when walked their way through the mall and some wounded.  As security forces were clearing of the Westgate mall, more bodies were discovered.  Five militant killed and 11 suspects arrested, whereas a British woman and three US citizens  among the terrorists.   Speculations of the so called the "white widow" being involved in the attacks, are still under scrutiny.  Al Shabab claim they have killed 137 people.

Heavy smoke rises from the Westgate Mall on September 23

A senior Kenyan government official said a women was among the attackers.   British-born Samantha Lewthwaite was seen as kind of victim of the July 2005 London terror attack.  Then pregnant, wife of one of the suicide bombers who killed 52 people, now left alone to care for her children.  Lewthwaite, 29, married a British Muslim, when she was 17-years-old according to the Daily Mail.  A convert to Islam, she married him in 2002.  In December 2011, Kenya authorities raided three homes in Mombasa, including one allegedly used by Samantha Lewthwaite.

They arrested some people on suspicion of planning to destroy a bridge, a ferry and hotels frequented by Western tourists.  But Lewthwaite was not found.   An eNCA Channel Africa investigation team has revealed that Samantha owed South African Banks thousand of rands.  She has spent time in South Africa using a false name and passport, Natalie Faye Webb, a name she used during the time spent in South Africa and lived in Johannesburg.  Is South Africa a safe heaven for the terrorist?

The world today is changing qiuickly due to the commencement and improved technology.  For the most part communities articulate that technology has brought decisive outcomes since of the advancing societal well being in our general public, while there are disbelievers about that.  Individuals are also changing according to the times and their lifestyle has improved.

People are adapting to a technology lifestyle.  Technology has eased the lifestyle of our population in this modern day life.  Tshwane Metro have brought technology into the lives of its people, especially youth in large.  In  August 2013, It all started with Tshepo Ten Thousand campaing, whereby the city of Tshwane took action to empower the youth and creat entrepreneurship opportunities.

The city of Tswane started this campaing to assist unemployed youth in Pretoria regional areas, seven regions and 105 wards.  The entrepreneurship programme will train and place the youth in different sectors such as:  Electricity and Energy, Water and Sanitation, Housing and Human settlement, Environmental management.  "To organized youth who completed training on projects such as fixing potholes, traffict lights and road marking, then will form cooperatives in each ward, said city of Tshwane.

Union Buildings_ Pretoria

Some community members beg to differ with the Mayor by saying, "their children finished school and have diplomas/ degrees but they are still unemployed... what will Tshepo entrepreneurship change, will it bring some light to our kids".  "Will there be no corruption", continued a community members.  Arguably enough there will be some errors just like any cooperation whereby things collapse even stand still due to lack of cooperative and communication.

Moving forward with the great City of Tshwane, Pretoria formally known.  The future is here... why not take a given opportunity and use it wisely?  The youth flown in numbers across Tshwane regions, grabed this opportunity to unlock their dreams and for that I personally say Cheers!  Free-Wi-Fi "A Smart Idea for a Smart City" the market logo on their pamphlets proudly brought to you by the City of Tshwane- Igniting Excellence.  Presicely, I for one can confirm it and I am a daily customer!  The free-WiFi has helped me to progress well because as a blogger/writer I must update my readers with variety of events.

Go-Wired and the city of Tshwane brought this initiative connectivity to the citizen of Tshwane, through Tshwane Broadband Network Project, making Tshwane a 'Smart City'.   Youth mostly is the constant viewer of the Internet.   Apart from that a working class like me, vist the GoWired project instantly without hesitation.  It is free and fast why not participate, use this opportunity?  I'm loving it every moment it is a god given moment.   Where in nine province would you get it... only in Tshwane!  We are blessed to be part of GoWired project because of the connectivity we network limitless.

Technology simplifies life in a very progressive way.  It plays an important role in uplifting economy and people are adjusting according to times.  Technology assist immensely for example, job seaching, emailing, networking and students better access to information.  This GoWired Hot Spot is created for the City of Tshwane to demostrate of how one aspect of the GoWired fibre optic network will enable for the City of Tshwane residence.  It has a high  speed connectivity ever. Look no further, alll surrounding areas are connected namely, Centurion, Mamelodi, Pretoria etc benefit from this networking programme.

Can ultra-fast internet change an entire city?  They ask:  At GoWired, we believe it can.  That's why we are proposing a network of hundreds of hundreds of kilometres of fibre-optic cable across the City of Tshwane to bring the benefits of the affordable, high speed broadband connectivity to the city, its business and its people.  - by City of Tshwane and GoWired

'Local is Lekker' meaning local is great, It is good for every citizen of Tshwane and it is affordable too.  No  worries at all, it's a free Wi-Fi   and  good for business as well.

Alexis carried an "AR15" with him everywhere he went.  The family of the alleged shooter apologizes for "inconvenience" of  loosing a loved one.  It seemed like the knew their son had problems but ignored to convince him of finding help.  Absurd to say inconvenience, people are killed here.  Not convincing enough.
United State of America has numerous history of  gun violence especially were people are shot in a spree daylight.  At schools, Universities gunshots are fired and teachers, children are killed.  Everyone is affected by this, no one is safe this days.

Late last year, the horrific incident which took place just before Christmas in America.  Adam Lanza, a student who killed 27 people in Connecticut, including his mother and 20 primary school children.  Lanza was amongst. those 27 people killed.  Mental problem is what the two, Alexis and Lanza suffered from-Traumatic Disorder .

Alexis had legitimate access to naval facility and used a "valid" pass.  Seriously, firstly those in charge at the facility could have prevented this by taking his access card.    Death cannot be prevented but a life can be spared.

Rugby

Red Card Overturned:  The red card  Springbok Hooker Bismarck Du Plessis received against New Zealand on Saturday 14, has been resounded by the SANZAR judicial officer Terry.  SARU [South Africa Rugby Union] wants IRB [ International Rugby Board] to explain how referee Romain Poite was allowed to take charge of the test match against New Zealand.

                                                               Bismarck Du Plessis

Du Plessis said he bears no grudges against referee Romain Poite for sending him off against the New Zealand..  Despite all that, Bismarck knew he was given a yellow card for reckless attack but went on played a reckless game.  IRB admit that it was a mistake for sending Du Plessis off and apologies.  It is not the first time surely the last, referee are biased towards South African sports players.  Rugby and Football seemed to be at the helm of this...  The match ended New Zealand  29-15 South Africa  and Australia won with an inch 14-13 against Agerntina.

Admitting is the right thing to do.  The Boks were not at their A-GAME, they were lacking speed and fail to keep the momentum going.  The World Champions New Zealand on the other side were quick, well balanced with 15 man on the field and kept the momentum going.

Championship Log Table:  New Zealand 18 points
                                         South Africa   14 points
                                         Australia          4 points
                                         Argentina         2 points

IRB World Rankings:  Top 5

1. New Zealand 92.07
2. South Africa   88.51
3. England          85.76
4. Australia         83.67
5. France            81.59

Football

South Africa Football player Kagisho Dikgacoi and Crystal Palace midfielder was given a red at the IPL match against Manchester United.  Dikgacoi said the Club is looking  to appeal his red card.   There goes a foul play again and the referee was biased on this match too.  A penalty was given due to? If you have watched the match between the two side Young fell on his own, Dikgacoi did not tramp him at all.  Manchester United Club said they will also look into the matter.

Red Card must be overturned here, Young needed a goal for his team nothing else.  Apology should be sent to Crystal Palace FA and  Dikgacoi.  "He became a victim of circumstances".

Try and Fail, but don't Fail to Try.

"Success is better than sweet"  It's a great feeling to see a Nation unite beyond sports, but we are not there yet.

South African Football squad, Bafana Bafana disappointed after not qualifying to FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil.   In 2010, South Africa became the first nation to host FIFA World Cup.  We hosted the 19th FIFA World Cup in June and July 2010.  Automatically, South Africa had a position in the World Cup as host therefore did not need a qualify to participate in the qualifying process as this double up a qualification for the African Cup of Nation in 2013.

We also hosted the FIFA Confederation Cup in 2009.  Back  in 1996, South African Football squad won the African Cup of Nation hosted at home with the likes of Mark Fish, Phil Masinga, Doctor Khumalo to mention few.  Those are the legends of  Bafana squad, played football with passion and determination to score goals.   They all had one dream to make the squad a successful.  Desire to play for the Nation, each of them brought an A-game to the team and were proud as well.
South Africa Football Association has been struggling for decates, whenever a team loos is coach's falt.  Gordon Igesund took over Pitso Mosimane after Bafana Bafana made an early exit in the World Cup tournament in 2010.  Igesund has improved the squad tremendously, even though they fail to score goals but there is a change.  His first victory was in 2012, an International Friendly against Mozambique at Mbombela stadium in Nelspruit  and Bafana won 2-0.

Every generation has its own ambition in life, sometimes to learn from the elder can help in building a great team.  Communication and team work assist in various forms and one is able to excel tremendously.  The recent squad keep on making mistakes and fail to produce goals. "Forward is were we go not backwards" it's different with Bafana Bafana, backwards is were they keep on going.

On Saturday 07, South Africa won a match against Botswana 4-1 score but it was too late to secure a spot for 2014 World Cup in Brazil.  They were drawn into Group A along Botswana, Central Africa Republic and Ethiopia.   Ethiopia top up the log table in Group A and South African came second.

The question is, will they ever qualify to the FIFA World Cup?

Cricket

Cricket South Africa held awards ceremony on September 10, 2013.  Hashim Amla joined Ntini and Kallis to win major trophies.  The number one batsman in the World won Cricketer of the Year, Test Cricketer of the Year, Fans Player of the Year and 'So Good' Award -Treble Test Century.
Team mates Kallis  won one trophy for Delivery of the Year and Dale Steyn the number one bowler in the World also went home with a single trophy, T-20 International Cricketer of The Year.

Captain my Captain, AB de Villiers stole two awards for ODI Cricketer of the Year and Player's Player of the year.  Congrats to all the winners, those who didn't win next time! Still on the awards new, Jacques Kallis is a missing link in South Africa squad.  During the ICC Champions Trophy he was unavaliable due to personal reasons.  Recent updates about him is that he will be available for the upcoming matches.

I don't think there is any concern.  He has been the rock of the team for the past 15 years.  We all know what to expect.  Maybe he is saving runs for the big games.  He is an excellent player and will come good.  -Hashim Amla on Jacques Kallis's lack of runs at the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011.
Big match SAvsInd...who will rise?  The India tour to South Africa is still inbalance.  Will keep you updated.

Formar Proteas coach Gary Kirsten has transformed the struggling national team.  India was struggling immensely before Kirsten came on board and the national team rise above, became the World Champions under Kirsten.  He has earned the respect of his multi-talented skills.  He is now coaching the Delhi Daredevils for three months and says "is good for his family".   In 2011, Kirsten was appointed the full time head coach of the Proteas.  The Proteas have reached no1 test ranking in the World under Kristen who stepped down in August 2013.  Reason being family matters.

Despite all this he is a superb coach.  Brainy and wise, dedicated to his work.  Any team function around him.

Football

South Africa squad Bafana Bafana, disappointed the nation once again.   This come after not qualifying for the Football World Cup 2014 in Brazil.  On Saturday 07, a match against Botswana nearly gave us hope... apparently Ethiopia came first to top up the log table, 4-1 score that's how it ended.   Hopeless,  far to reach the element of freedom.   On Wednesday 11, they fail again to produce, International Friendly match against Zimbabwe at Orlando Stadium Soweto, South Africa and 2-1 score.  Few supporters came out to support them and did not play a well structured match, they lacked team work and communication.  It seemed like they have no interest at all, focus and consistency... all hope is gone.

Sports

Football:  Real Deal for Real Madrid.  On Monday 01, window transfer process closed and  football fanatic are waiting to see who's gamble payed off.  Gareth Frank Bale, 24, became the most expensive transfer by passing new teammate Christiano Ronaldo.  Bale, former Tottenham HotSpur midfielder was sold  for 85.3 billion pounds.  His career began at Southampton, playing at the left back and he then move to Tottenham HotSpur in 2007.

                                                                     Gareth Bale

The big question is, will Bale overcome competition in Madrid?   Will he match Ronaldo's tactics and was the timing correct for him to move abroad?  All this questions will be answered when he settle in.  Prior to move to Spain were expected, but some fans were not happy with his decision.

The footballer best known for his speed and great crossing ability, on September 1, 2013 he was transferred to spanish team Real Madrid.  Tough task ahead of him but he will eventually connect, adapt to his new team.  He was named PFA ''Player of the Year" in 2011 and 2013, and UEFA Team of the Year in 2011.

Arsenal FA gamble as well, finally! Ozil's last minute transfer to Arsenal from Real Madrid and Kaka went back to his former club AC Milan from Real Madrid too.

Lets have a conversation about it_Freedom is the ability to choose your own goals with wisdom, And then act decisively to pursue them, Without being shackled by the dictates of the others or your own weaknesses -Avrahm Greenbau

Where are we as the nation? To be honest things are not great as we hoped after a democratic government.  After 1994, elections we became a unit  and the pretenders as well... everyone was on board, except one thing!  The forgotten heroes,  soldiers and noble man remained where they were before, didn't pick up the pieces broken by enemies.  They have never regained a concession withheld by the former government.

When all is sad and done, no one wants to take a blame.  Who benefited mostly? Why are we not functioning as the society especially a country, where is that one unit nation?  "Let freedom rain" Lets talk about it, various problems; ranging from politics to child paedophiles.

Food For Thought
The winner is always part of the answer
The loser is always part of the problem
The winner always has a program
The loser has an excuse
The winner says: 'Let me do it for you'!
The loser says: 'It's not my job'
The winner sees an answer for every problem
The loser sees a problem for every answer
The winner sees a green near every green
The loser sees two sand traps near every green
The winner says: ''It may be difficult, but it is possible"
The loser says: "It may be possible, but it's too difficult"

Few months back, The Film and Publication Board were in feud with the "Good Reporter" film about the depicts of child child pornography.  The film makers ague that their story line does not portray  and inflict any sexual harm to the children, it's about reality.  This things are happening under our watch and should be shared, shown and allow the audience to comment.  By doing this we will be able to engage everyone and attend those problems we have as a nation.

The ban was lifted, the Film and Publication Board lost an appeal again.  Irritating enough, the board viewed the film for only 28 minutes whereas the film is about 104 minutes.  Early conclusions were made at the Durban International Film Festival ceremony  "Of Good Report" film.  Questions were raised about pornographic materials, it seemed as if it is a no talking zone.  Sex is still a taboo to South Africans, various platforms given to us, but we don't make use of them.

"I have a responsibility for every single person who watches my film that even if I shake their very cora, I must not violate them", said Jahmil X.T. Qubeka, film director.  The film is about a sixteen year-old schoolgirl Nolitha, their character names and Park Sithole, a schoolteacher.  They get involve sexually, and for the first 28 minute sexual encounter the board got offended stating the film as a child pornography.  Shaheda Omar, Teddy Bear Clinic director was fumed as well "It's mimic and children will be exposed to and would want to experience it, what is shown in this film".

We shy away from the truth, why not talk about it.  Children want to be informed either way they are growing up and issues like this should be tackled.  Child pornography is a criminal offence, child paedophiles are everywhere.  Media has its own positive and negative scenarios, but there are educational as well which assist and kids benefit from those channels.  We must not argue about minor things.

Sexism and sexiest behaviour: Another big problem we face as South Africans.  On Lindiwe Sisulu, she is an Ambassador for South Africa in Zimbabwe for SADC [ a member of facilitation team]. This comes after she commented about Zimbabwe's Government, therefore presidency and Zuma distanced themselves from Robert Mugabe's comment.  Instead of standing up for her and support her from the sittuation they distance themselves.  That was sexiest mentality, nothing was said to protect Zulu.  "Idiotic street women", said Robert Mugabe Zimbabwe President.

Who can forget SADTU hang an underwear in discripting Angie Motshega Minister of Education?  It was justice disperative towards women, disrespectful, disgusing and distasteful as well.  Who are this men, what kind of role are they playing towards young men in South Africa and what kind of  legacy they would want to leave?  Messiful one, boys must be taught to respect  women not insult and humiliate them at home even publicly.  Morals and selfworth could benefit future men.

'The country is judged by how it treats it's women'.  Fathers of tomorrow, leaders of tomorrow, generation-X... we are far from reaching inequality.   Sexiest mentality destroy trust between men and women, Sisulu was insulted as a woman and ANC [African National Congress] distance themselves instead of protecting her, one of their cadre.  A major role should have been played by the presidency to prevent such things to occur in future.

Last month in Gauteng, six child paedophiles were arrested.  In raids, police seize porn material and amongst those are former headmaster, lawyer and teacher.  Respected people in our society behave like this!  Sleep with one eye open... no one to be trusted. "We are in this together"  as we celebrate Heritage month on the 24 September.
