Breaking News: Kenya Mall Siege

Nairobi Mall Attack, Westgate

Kenya stood still on Saturday 21,2013, midday and many were shaken by Terrorist attack.  At least 175 people injured and 59 people killed in Nairobi shopping mall.  Among the dead is a South African businessman James Thomas, who was based in Cape Town.   Thomas, 57,  who had been in Kenya to conduct an entrepreneurial training progrmme for Allan Gray Orbis Foundation.  South Africa have stake in Kenya's Economy.  During the horrific ordeal, at least six South African were in the shopping complex.

Including President's Uhuru Kenyatta's nephew and fiancee, four British Internationals, two diplomats, one from Ghana and another from Canada, two French citizens, two Chines women, two Indians, a South Korean and a Dutch woman have been killed too.  A South African women who survived the the terror attack, claim to have seen them (terrorist) coming inside the shopping mall.   Fearless, they started gun firing everyone as they were walking inside the shopping centre.

The Somali Islamist take a full responsibility.  The gang is known as the Al Shababa, were armed as they forced themselves into the building.   The Islamist group has carried out the attack in retaliation for Kenya's army operation inSomalia.  The Al-Shabab, which is linked to al-Qaeda, has repeatedly threatened attacks on Kenyan soil if Nairobi did not pull out the troops out of Somalia.   Why? Members of al-Shabab group are fighting to creat an Islamic state in Somalia.

 The Kenyans are still shocked, even President Uhuru Kenyatta said ''it is despicable and beastly acts''.   Across the World, we are shaken and distraught by this.   The death toll rises every hour, whereas babies and children were executed by the rebels due to the large amount of crying.  Later stage of the news, 10-15 Attackers were still inside the shopping center yesterday.  Eleven people were arrested at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi over the weekend.  And no details have been issued about their identities of or it they were involved in the Westgate attack:  said Kenya's Interior Minister Joseph Ole Lenku.

Thousand civilians were still trapped inside the Nairobi mall yesterday.   In the early hours of today most hostages were rescued_reports came through Military.  Police and Military were on the ground battling the Al Shababa gang, security force still locked in.  Most children were released today. age between 9-month-old to nine-years-old.-  Reports by BBC Africa.  Red Cross confirms an estimated number of injuries at about 200.

They were attacking everyone, man, women and children.  "The country is united and armed against adversity", said Uhuru Kenyatta, Kenya President.   Prayers, comfort messages came through across the world.   The hash tags  like #WeAreONE, #WestGateAttack and #Kenya are used on social media to show a significant support.  As the story develops, Kenya's the interior minister today said that two 'terrorist' were killed this morning and some injured.   Furthermore, 10 security forces are injured at Westgate shopping mall.
