News Rap: 'HALF MAN~HALF AMAZING' TOP BILLING STAR SIMBA MHERE•

"He was going places.  He was the most amazing human being. Gentle, kind and loving; honest, hard-working.  He was everything; he was the most extraordinary person.  I saw him on Thursday and I always used to kiss him on the neck and always used to love it and shake, says Lorraine Meizel- Mhere's manager.

A prayer for family and friend of the late Simbarashe Mhere and Kady-Shay O'Bryan. My sincere condolences to the bereaved families, friends and colleagues.  The untimely death of Top Billing star sparked shock and disbelieve to many SABC 3 viewers and the public in large.

It happened so quick; just after two days of celebrating his journey to stardom and successful career as much adored presenter alongside his colleague Jonathan Boynton-Lee.  On Thursday, January 29 Top Billing 'took a walk down memory lane' of Simba and Jonathan by taking us back to their successful stories of becoming a presenter on the show.

I personally didn't know Mhere, but believe me when I say 'I was there in 2010, at the Melrose Arch hotel in Johannesburg for the Top Billing Presenters search Auditions'.

"Can't believe my brother is gone", said Jonathan Boynton-Lee on 3Talk show on Monday. Boynton-Lee said, he accompanied Mhere's father to the mortuary to identify Simba's body. Emotionally as it is, he couldn't hold back tears when speaking with the host show Noeleen Maholwana-Sangqu.  It was an emotional tribute show, and heartbreaking to watch.

Simbarashe Mhere was born on October 29, 1988 in Zimbabwe.  His parents moved to South Africa when he was just 1-year-old. The 26-year-old joined Top Billing in 2010 after winning the presenter search.  Mhere was traveling to OR Tambo International Airport with his father Joseph and his friend; 29-year-old Journalist Kady-Shay O'Bryan when the head-on collision took place. Joseph Mhere survived the car crash.

"He just went straight and crossed the barrier on the middle island and collided with Simba's car", said JMPD(Johannesburg Metro Police Department) spokesperson Edna Mamonyane elaborating on how the accident occurred.   Meanwhile, the driver of VW Polo is now charged with two counts of culpable homicide.

A memorial service will be held this Thursday at the Rhema Bible Church in Randburg from 15:00 to 17:00pm.  The funeral will take place at the Rhema Bible Church on Saturday, February 7 at the Rhema Bible Church in Randburg at 09:00am, and he will be laid to rest at the Westpark Cemetery in Roosevelt Park.
